Растение, у которого мужские (тычиночные) и женские (пестичные) цветки расположены на разных особях; в ряде случаев двудомность связана с наличием дифференцированных половых хромосом - например, у щавеля (Rumex sp.), у гинкго (Ginkgo biloba) и др.
